There's a special place for Chrysler Group LLC in the heart of the Lone Star State. At the annual Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) Texas Truck Rodeo, the company sealed 15 of 24 awards at the event in its 21st year.
The awards were determined by the votes of over 40 TAWA members. The votes were taken after an on-road and off-road competition that lasted for two days. Voters had pay close attention to the design, value, utility, capability and technology of each vehicle.
The results, as we mentioned, largely reflect TAWA members' feelings of the Chrysler Group LLC's quality vehicles. Of the Chrysler Group awards, the Jeep brand took away five--making it the SUV king of Texas.
The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee claimed two awards: the SUV of Texas and the Mid-size SUV of Texas. This is the fourth year the model's claimed the SUV of Texas award.
Other accolades include the 2014 Jeep Cherokee which earned the Compact SUV of Texas award; the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit snagged the Luxury Mid-Size SUV of Texas award; and 2014 Jeep Wrangler was dubbed the Off-road Utility Vehicle of Texas.
"The RAM, Jeep and Dodge brands from Chrysler Group clearly impressed our TAWA members at this year's event," says TAWA President Michael Marrs. "There's no doubt that innovative powertrains, impressive designs and new technologies are paying off for these brands."1
RAM Trucks claimed several other awards, one Dodge model claimed another, and Texas applauded Chrysler Group for its UConnect system, as well.
