Performance
Three engine options are available for the 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The Wrangler is one of the rare SUVs that still use a system with a manual transmission as its mainline option. With a 3.6-liter engine, the manual powertrain offers 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. It can tow up to 2,000 pounds. The fuel economy split is 17 miles per gallon in the city and 23 miles per gallon on the highway.
If you want a Jeep Wrangler with an automatic transmission, the 2.0-liter engine is your most likely choice. It delivers 270 horsepower and 296 pound-feet of torque, good for a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. You also will get 20 miles per gallon in the city and 22 miles per gallon on the highway near Myrtle Beach.
For those who demand undisputed power, there is a 6.4-liter engine. It also uses an automatic transmission. With an output of 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, it has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. It will also go from zero to 60 miles per hour in as little as 4.5 seconds and do a quarter-mile time of just 13 seconds.
Technology
All versions of the Jeep Wrangler come with a 12.3-inch touchscreen that employs the company's Uconnect® 5 software. Compatibility with phones over Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ is standard. The system includes a split-screen capability to allow multitasking. It also supports apps, navigation, adventure guides, and vehicle data.
Safety
Side-curtain and overhead airbags are standard on the Jeep Wrangler. The SUV also employs automatic braking assistance, electronic stability control with anti-rollover technology, and driveline traction control. A sentry key system will also immobilize the vehicle in case of an attempted theft.
