The Jeep Wagoneer S will be the first fully-electric model the brand is making available to the American market. It will have 617 pound-feet of torque and can take you from zero to 60 mph in an estimated 3.4 seconds. The new Wagoneer has an electric motor mounted on each axle and the all-wheel drive version will deliver 600 horsepower.
Jeep’s original goal for the Wagoneer S was a driving range of 400 miles but that estimate has been substantially reduced along with the elimination of the formidable HEMI® V8 engine. Instead, we’re expecting that the electric Wagoneer S will give you around 300 miles of driving range when it arrives this fall at Conway Chrysler Dodge Jeep Inc in Conway, SC.
Exterior design
The Wagoneer S has remained true to most of the original vision that was first unveiled in 2022. The slender headlights include a daytime running light that flows into a strip above an illuminated variation of Jeep’s trademark seven-slot grille. New exterior images viewed by Car and Driver show a different set of wheels than what was visible on the original concept models. The design features a predominant five-spoke approach with thinner spokes.
A close-up photo of the integrated rear spoilers in the Wagoneer S reveals a more prominent upper spoiler that extends from the roof line, similar to what was presented in earlier photos. But there’s now a smaller lip spoiler that seems to direct air flow off the rear window. The full-width taillights appear to be faithful to the previous renditions and there’s now a new Jeep script appearing above the light bar instead of the Wagoneer emblem.
A preview of the interior
The cabin of the new electric Wagoneer S reveals a dashboard that has four separate screens. In addition to a gauge cluster with a full map mode, Jeep is including a center touch screen with a premium McIntosh sound system that's also available on other Jeep models. A second touch screen will have the ability to play videos and that will be located in front of the front passenger’s seat. The lower section of the center stack has yet another touch screen with controls for climate and other internal functions for Myrtle Beach and Loris drivers.
Photos indicate that the center console will have an illuminated on and off button as well as a rotary shift knob. That control center will have five different drive modes controlling the Jeep® Brand Selec-Terrain Traction Management System. Your choices will be Snow, Sand, Eco, Auto and Sport. The interior of the doors on the new 2024 Wagoneer S will reportedly have stitched leather surfaces and there will be ambient lighting that stretches from the dashboard to the doors. There will also be buttons on the lower touch screen to activate massaging seats for people in the front row.
Technology in the new Jeep Wagoneer S
You'll be able to take control of your Jeep Wagoneer S with the Jeep app. It will allow Socastee owners to view valuable feedback about your vehicle's health, schedule a service appointment and use remote convenience features. With the Jeep Wagoneer Remote Climate Activation system you can use the Jeep app to remotely cool down your vehicle when the temperature is hot in the summer or heat it up on a cold winter day. The Jeep Wagoneer S will have 45 inches of total display screen area which is the best in the entire EV class. This system will make it easy to select your entertainment choices, control comfort settings and get information about your trip.
